Areas of professional focus at CDE
I am a member and the coordinator of our small editing and translation team. As such, I spend most of my time editing English texts written by non-native speakers of English and translating texts from German into English or the other way round. Occasionally I also edit German texts. In addition to this main role, I am the assistant editor of Mountain Research and Development – an international, peer-reviewed scientific journal edited at CDE. In this role, I oversee language and figure editing of articles accepted for publication, as well as managing the journal's website, social media, and everyday relations with publishing and indexing partners. I enjoy the multifaceted nature of my job, especially the wide variety of texts I work with: research papers, project proposals, reports, web pages, social media posts, position papers, monographs, edited volumes, and many more. My favourite topics are social and natural phenomena, and many texts I edit or translate happen to cover both. But most of all, I love the challenge of writing for different audiences and helping to make my colleagues’ writing more stylish.
